iCORDI (http://www.icordi.eu/) is a EC funded project that has a strategic role in so far as its goal is to support global interaction on the harmonization of data organizations across disciplines to promote data management, data sharing and data re-using as it is currently being intended by the Research Data Alliance (http://rd-alliance.org). RDA follows a similar approach than IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) since it is bottom-up organized, i.e. data practitioners play the driving force, and its purpose is to remove concrete barriers.
TLA plays an important role in iCORDI and RDA, since it is leading the Work Package about this global interaction together with John Wood and Leif Laaksonen, since it employs the high level secretarial staff to support the RDA work, since it is participating in the RDA Steering board and since its experts are contributing to the RDA working groups.
