The Spoken Language Working Group of EAGLES (the European Commission’s Expert Advisory Group on Language Engineering Standards, now ISLE) has produced a Handbook of Standards and Resources for Spoken Language Systems, “with information and recommendations on established practice in the area of spoken language system development in multilingual environments.” The EAGLES project also comprised working groups on working standards for corpora, lexicons, formalisms and evaluation. The EAGLES-II project included further work on semantic annotation and dialogue annotation.
