Hi, I am a complete novice here and learning very slowly, so any tips would be very welcome. I want to use ELAN to annotate a wav. file. I downloaded Elan and am running it on Windows 2010. I opened the wav. file correctly and I can see and hear it correctly. However, I understand I have to save it as an . eaf file. to be able to save changes. The programme doesn´t let me do it. I get a message:
“Unable to save the transcription file:(Unable to save this file: C:\Program Files\Elan-CorpA_481\Sir Philip Green….Access Denied))
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,
did you already try to save the file somewhere else than within ELAN’s installation folder under Program Files (which is probably not a good idea anyway)? You might not have permission to save a file under Program Files? So, if you are in the Save As window you could navigate to a folder where you are sure to have permission to save the eaf?
