Is vlc properly installed ?

Han

Is VLC installed in a more or less default/standard location? And can that location be tracked in that long path?
Can you add some version numbers, of VLC and the Linux installation?
I don’t have a Linux machine at hand right now, but there might be a Media Playback Read Me file in the ELAN installation folder, is there any useful information in there?

hi, thx for your comments, it had indeed to do with libvlc installation,

I installed vlc with command:
sudo apt-get install vlc

but I forgot to install libvlc with command:
sudo apt-get install libvlc-dev

After having vlc and libvlc installed I can use Elan5.7-FX on linux ubuntu 18.04, reading .avi files

Thanks!
