Inserting Images into ELAN?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any support for inserting images into ELAN. I am working with videos where the speakers complete linguistic exercises requiring them to look at pictures, and in many of the videos we are unable to clearly see the image they are working with. It would be convenient to have the image in the ELAN file so we can quickly reference it.

Thank you,

Anna

Currently this is not possible. You can link an image, or multiple images, the same way you can link an audio or video file but they can then not be linked to a certain interval of the video (they stay visible all the time).
On our wish list is a feature to allow to link external documents to individual annotations. External documents could be video, images, text, maybe pdf etc. which would then be shown somewhere/somehow when the annotation is activated. But such feature isn’t implemented yet.

Thanks for your response. I hope it can be added in the future!

Wow. That’ll be so cool if/when you can do it.
