I am using Hebrew as the annotation language in ELAN. I find that in some cases, the punctuation at the end of an annotation is moved to the beginning of the entered text. I want to export my files in SRT format and I have this problem both in the original ELAN annotation and in the exported file. Can you advise? Many thanks.
I’m afraid I can’t advise, but I think I can reproduce what you describe. And it seems the text is rendered differently in a text edit box in ELAN compared to e.g. the timeline viewer. When e.g. a full stop is shown on the right hand side of the text in the timeline viewer, it is shown on the left side in the edit box or in the tooltip of the annotation.
When opening the .eaf file in a text editor the punctuation is stored to the right, the same as it is exported to .srt.
Do you use a Hebrew keyboard or the Hebrew virtual keyboard or input method of ELAN?
