Sorry for the view of the post. I don’t think anyone can read this in that style! How can I post it in the way I am typing it in? (without the commands being only shown?)

we are working with Microsoft
Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3. Elan has always
been working fine for a couple of years now. Due to a problem with
Adobe Premiere elements we had to renew our OS and all installed
programs were removed.
Now since the installation of the
latest Elan version it does not work properly anymore. all video and
audio files are shown and you are able to play them once (sometimes
twice) but after you paused or stopped and press play again it won’t
work anymore. The cursor jumps forward and no sound is being played.
After trying several de- and re-installations and installing and
removing other media players we still cannot solve the problem. Here is
what the log-file says after playing a file several times (the first
two times worked, but then the problem occured
again):

I don’t see anything that is clearly wrong in the log. The only thing somehow irregular is the player that is created for the .wav file. Normally when you have two video files and a wav file, the sound will be played using the first video, the wav will only be used for visualisation. I’m not saying that the problems you are experiencing are related to this, I don’t know. I’m not familiar with problems with this particular AVI Splitter.

I know that sometimes the driver of the video card can mess things up (!). This could be something to try
